Privacy Policy
How MyRanking handles your account, study activity and personal information.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MyRanking handles information for the MyRanking student app (in.myranking.app), its connected services and these policy pages. “MyRanking”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the team operating the MyRanking service.
For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or account deletion, contact myrankingofficial@gmail.com. This page names the MyRanking app so that users can identify the service to which the policy applies.
2. Information we handle
Account and profile
Mobile number, name, account identifiers, authentication and session information, and email when provided. Depending on the fields you complete, your profile may also include your photo, date of birth, parent/father name, qualifications, target exams, state and district.
Optional student category
A category you choose for exam preparation, such as general, EWS, OBC, SC, ST or PwD, can reveal sensitive community, socioeconomic or disability-related information. Supply it only when you choose to use the relevant profile feature.
Tests and study activity
Selected answers, marked questions, attempt identifiers, time spent, scores, performance summaries, rankings, bookmarks, study preferences, streaks and progress. The app stores some of this information locally to support offline answering and later synchronization.
Device and service operation
App-generated device identifiers, session records, app/device information used by supported features, notification registration tokens, request timestamps, IP addresses and technical or security logs processed when you connect to the service.
Purchases and support
When used: plan or subscription details, order/payment references, status, entitlement and wallet/reward records. Support correspondence includes the information and attachments you send. Do not send payment credentials, passwords or OTPs to support.
Content you choose to share
When enabled and used: profile images, community posts, messages, doubt/question content, reports, photos, audio or other attachments you select or record. Content shared with a group or other users can be visible to those recipients.
Available features can vary by release. Feature-specific information is handled when that feature is available and you use it; this policy is not a promise that every listed feature is enabled.
3. Why we use information
We use relevant information to create and authenticate accounts, deliver tests, save and evaluate responses, personalize preparation, show performance and eligible rankings, provide purchased access, send requested notifications, handle support and deletion requests, investigate abuse, and keep the service reliable.
Account/profile and exam-preference fields support account management and relevant preparation features. Ranking and community views may display a name, profile image or activity where the feature provides for it. Share content with that visibility in mind.
4. Device permissions and local storage
The app may request notifications, camera, microphone or selected-media access for features you choose to use. You can manage these permissions in device settings. Denying an optional permission can limit its related feature.
For OTP autofill, a supported device may ask permission to provide the relevant verification message through Android SMS User Consent; that is not permission to browse your entire SMS inbox.
Answers, cached results, preferences and recovery records can remain in the app’s storage. Uninstalling or clearing app data can remove unsynchronized answers, and does not by itself delete your server account.
5. Service providers and other recipients
Relevant providers process information to operate the features you use:
- Cloudflare: hosting, request delivery, security, backend compute and storage.
- Google/Firebase: app initialization and supported push-notification services, including registration identifiers; Google also hosts the support email service.
- MSG91: mobile-number verification and delivery of authentication messages.
- Razorpay or the payment provider displayed at checkout: payment processing where that checkout is enabled. MyRanking receives payment/status references needed to manage access; payment credentials are handled through the provider’s payment flow.
Information may also be accessed by authorized support/administration personnel, by users to whom you deliberately share content, or where a disclosure is required to comply with law, protect rights, or address fraud or security incidents.
Provider processing may take place outside your state or country. Provider privacy terms govern their separate services. These policy pages do not add advertising tags or marketing analytics.
6. Security
We use HTTPS for service connections, authenticated account access and access controls for backend operations. Tokens, local data and cached answers also depend on the security of your device. Do not share your login credentials, OTPs or an unlocked device with others. No online service or storage method can guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention and deletion
Account and activity information is retained while needed to provide your account, study history and requested services, and to resolve support, security or transaction matters. The app’s seven-day personal-only answer-recovery eligibility window is measured from the official test deadline; it is not a promise that all account or local data is automatically erased after seven days.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data using the account-deletion page. Requests are handled by support after reasonable account-ownership verification; visiting that page alone does not delete anything.
Verified deletion requests cover account/profile information, linked study and exam records, device/session associations and account-linked content under our control, subject to limited legitimate retention. Transaction/accounting records, fraud/security evidence and request-handling records may need to be retained for legal, security or dispute reasons. The scope and applicable retention period depend on the record and reason; support will explain retained categories and applicable periods when handling the request. There is no universal seven-day retention period for these records.
Copies held independently by other users, such as screenshots of content you shared, are outside our direct control. Independently non-identifying aggregate statistics may remain. Removing a public identifier alone is not treated as account deletion.
8. Your choices and requests
You may update supported profile fields in the app, control device permissions and notifications, and contact myrankingofficial@gmail.com for access, correction, deletion, or questions about your information. A parent or guardian concerned about a child’s information may contact the same address. We may ask for information necessary to verify account ownership, but support will not ask you to send a password or OTP by email.
Account deletion does not by itself cancel an independently billed subscription. Manage recurring billing with the original provider and ask support for assistance when needed; you do not need to reinstall the app merely to submit a deletion request.
9. These policy pages
You can read these pages without creating an account or signing in. The pages do not contain a server-submitted personal-data form or store account details. Opening the email action starts a draft in your email application; the message is sent only when you send it. Cloudflare processes ordinary connection/request information to deliver and protect the pages.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when the service or its data handling changes. The effective date appears at the top. Where required, significant changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel.
